The park is a county facility of 6 buildings: the Exhibit
Barn, the Blacksmith Shop and the Irrigation
Museum, plus the historic structures:
the Spreckels House (1898), the LaGloria
Schoolhouse (1887), and the King City Southern
Pacific Depot (1903). All are completely furnished with
turn-of-the-20th Century artifacts.
Outside exhibits feaature antique farm equipment dating from the
late 1800s through the 1940s. The main Exhibit Barn displays the
development of Salinas Valley agriculture and rural life from the
late 1700s through 1910.
The Exhibit Barn is open 10 AM to 4 PM daily, closed Christmas
Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Day and Thanksgiving Day and the day
thereafter.
The Spreckels House and Schoolhouse are open Saturdays and Sundays,
April through October from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. If docents are available,
we'll also open the other buildings. All buildings are available
to group tours by appointment. ADA compliant.
There is no charge to visit any of the buildings. There is an admission
fee to the park of $3 per car during the week, $5 on weekends. Seniors
and walk-ins are free. The park facility is over 200 acres with
an RV campground, playgrounds, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits,
softball area, numerous picnic areas and hiking trails.
